For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her. {Eph 5:25 NLT}
The subject of godly love is more of an action than just a mere verbal confession, for the husband, your daily actions towards your wife is what communicates the degree of your love for her. Our scriptural focus for today states – For husband’s, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her. X-raying the love of Christ for the church we discover that, Christ gave up his life for the church to demonstrate that His love is – sacrificial, unconditional, selfless, it was aimed at making the church better than He met it, it was also aimed at giving the church a future and a hope of eternity with Him etc. In the same vein, the husbands love for his wife Must be sacrificial, unconditional and selfless. As a husband, you may not give up your life for your wife but, you must be ready to sacrifice your comfort, advantages and even privileges for the good of your own wife. The husband must do all within his power to make his wife better than how he met her{physical, spiritually, emotionally, materially etc}. Ensuring that her eternity will be with Christ is the greatest demonstration of the husband’s love for his wife.
Be sacrificial in the demonstration of your love.
