As we continue our study on sexual sins and its effect in a christian relationship, it will be necessary to highlight what it is again. Sexual Sins are all forms of sexual activities or any form of achieving sexual satisfaction outside the marriage relationship. Our focus today will be on Masturbation. Masturbation is the manual erotic stimulation of the genitals or other erotic regions of the body by oneself to achieve sexual satisfaction. It is an act done by both men and women, but popular amongst young people and older singles. It is caused by exposing oneself to any form of pornography, {nude pictures or firms, porn websites or physically seeing a nude person}. It is dangerous because it creates wrong mental pictures in one’s mind.
Most people don’t realize that masturbation is highly addictive, this is also the reason why a large percentage of married people masturbate on a regular basis. Thinking in this way as a married person only sets up unrealistic expectations and dishonors your wife. You may even find that when you masturbate you are angry with your wife because she isn’t available in certain ways. Unhealed anger about these issues fuels vulnerability to all forms of sexual sin. Masturbating may even deprive your wife of your sexual ability to her.
The Bible may not be clear on the issue of masturbation, but it is clear about lustful fantasy which is the root cause of masturbation. Masturbating leads to a certain form of “tolerance.” The tolerance effect simply means that the more you do something the more you will eventually need to do it to achieve the same affect.
This is a bad habit that is capable of destroying your marriage or relationship for those engaged.
