The Knowledge of Christ Part III

I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be. {Phil 3:12  TLB}

It will definitely be a painful experience to look back at life and feel unaccomplished as a believer because you did not practice Christianity based on the knowledge Christ has made available. Our scriptural focus for today states - I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet.
‘I don’t mean to say I am perfect or have attained perfection’ – This statement describes Apostle Paul as a great and honest believer, who will never allow himself to be satisfied with whatever spiritual attainments he has been privileged to arrive at. Obviously, he was satisfied with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour but was not satisfied with the current knowledge of Christ he has, knowing that there is still much of Christ that his life time on earth may not effort him to discover it all.
A righteous dissatisfaction in the life of a believer concerning the knowledge of Christ, is the first essential to making real and sustainable progress in one’s Christian life here on earth. Please personally answer these questions by the help of the Holy Spirit;
1. Am i satisfied with the knowledge of Christ i have now?
2. Have i learnt all there is about Christ?
3. Am i satisfied with my spiritual attainment at the moment?
4. Have i allowed pride into my life by the way i celebrate my spiritual attainments? Etc
If your answer is yes – know for sure that you’re in for trouble, but if your answer is no – then there is room enough for improvement, and the Holy Spirit says – Go for it.
Some believers are at the state of self-satisfaction or premature satisfaction because they quickly compare there spiritual development with other believers, and usually such comparison is with those who are not making much progress in their knowledge of Christ. Let Christ be your focus and keep learning from Him by the help of the Holy Spirit, and don’t allow religion to shift your focus from Christ.

Christ our perfection
