All the others care only for themselves and not for what matters to Jesus Christ. {Phil 2:21  NLT}

The diversion of time, energy, purpose, and concern away from the weightier matters of the kingdom by brethren, is the actual conduit pipe that is wasting the glorious resources of the church. Our scriptural focus for today states – All the others care only for themselves and not for what matters to Jesus Christ. It seriously would have been heartbreaking for Apostle Paul, to have many people around him, who claimed to be believers but were uninterested in the actual purpose/mission of Christ on the earth.
One of the tragedies of church problems is when people who profess to be believers are only interested or engrossed in themselves and their internal wranglings that they have no time for the work of the Lord. Beloved this was the case with the roman brethren, and it was definitely a bad one. This statement – ‘All the others care only for themselves’ – raises the issue of why are you as an individual in church?. Are you just in church to only satisfy your personal goals and ambitions? or Are you in church to serve the purpose of Christ?.
That the roman brethren who were with Apostle Paul at this time did very badly cannot be over emphasized, but let us not be harsh in either criticizing or judging them, lets turn the searchlight to ourselves – How many believers in our churches today will be willing to leave their businesses and their comfortable homes and the luxury life they are currently enjoying and go on a missionary journey, like going to philippi from roman, bearing in mind the difficulties and the possible dangers associated with such journey’s.
Beloved, the Holy Spirit is bringing to our notice through this passage that if we as believers do not practice always the principle of Sef-denial in order to promote the purpose of Christ on this earth, our Christianity has become empty religion.

Don’t be selfish – Care genuinely about Christ.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
