Bearing Burdens Part VII
Beloved, the proof that your trust is in God is in your absolute obedience to His word even in the face of difficult and contradicting circumstances. Our scriptural focus for today states – If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. {Gal 6:3 NLT}
It is clear that there are some attitudes a believer in Christ must lay aside for him/her to effectively bear the burdens of others. We must learn to put away self conceit, an attitude that breeds intolerance of error in others and also causes one to think he/she is above failure.
When a believer in Christ begins to feel so secured of his her righteousness not because of the ability the Holy Spirit supplies daily but a confidence in length of days as a believer or the spiritual attainments one has achieved, then such persons are not safe.
The feeling of being so important to help a fellow believer who has mistakenly fallen into sin, is rooted in a self confidence that one is infallible.
The devil wants to deceive believers into having a sense of false security that does not guarantee a continuous and stable spiritual development. When the devil succeeds in tricking a believer into this way of living, where he/she is only fooling himself/herself, such person has made himself/herself vulnerable to the attacks of the devil.
Don’t live in self confidence
Have a Grace filled day – Good News Awaits you.
