Divine Strength For Victory Part I
Beloved, some people think that God will love us if we change, but the bible teaches that God’s love is the change agent we need. Our scriptural focus for today states – We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy. {Col 1:11 NLT}
During our earthly pilgrimage, every believer in Christ requires a lot of endurance and patience to always come out victorious in the various challenges that will confront us in the actualization of God’s purpose for our lives. In view of this, Apostle Paul and his team were in prayer for the Colossian believers that they will be strengthened with all of God’s glorious power which will produce the divine abilities of endurance and patience in their lives.
It will be important to emphasize that depression, discouragements, frustrations etc, will easily find their way in a life that has not depended on God’s power to produce endurance and patience. These two divine virtues are the pillars of faith that helps a believer go through difficult and challenging time in every area of life and still come out victorious.
In our world today, there are people with failed/unfulfilled expectations in marriage, career, ministry etc, and the devil wants to take advantage of this to suggest thoughts that will lead to depression and ultimately to suicide, but today like Apostle Paul, we pray for you that God’s glorious power will strengthened both your inner and physical man so that you will have all the endurance and patience you need to go through that circumstance and come out better and victorious in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
