Slavery Exposed Part III

As children of God, we will never influence the world for Christ by trying to be like it, lets be different based on the teachings of the scriptures and we will influence the world God’s way. Our scriptural focus for today states – You are trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or months or seasons or years. {Gal 4:10  NLT}
The Galatian Christians were talked into believing that by observing some special days, months, seasons or years, they can earn favour with God. In Judaism, there are special days such as – the Sabbath day, the day of Atonement, there are special months and seasons such as – New moons, Passover, Firstfruits, and special years such as – Sabbath year, the year of Jubilee etc. The Pharisees and other believers in Judaism meticulously observed all these special days, months, seasons and years as a means of gaining favour with God, but failed because this process proved over time that they cannot in themselves be a mean of achieving salvation or sanctification, which are the basis for gaining favour with God.
Apostle Paul seeing the Galatian Christians going back to a failed process that God has equally rejected, was of serious concern to him and the work the Holy Spirit has done. He envisaged the damage it would cause on their new found faith, so he decided to warm them against traveling on that path because it will not get them their desired outcome. It was another subtle way the devil introduced to enslave the Galatian Christians and ultimately destroy that revival.
Under the dispensation of Grace which we are privileged to be partakers through Christ, He(Christ) will never require us to observe any special day, month, season or year as a means of gaining favour with God. Wherever such is practiced no for sure that Christ is not involved but that it is another subtle way brought about by the devil to take humans back to slavery with him.

We gain favour with God through Christ.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
