As we continue our study on sexual sins and its effects in a Christian relationship, our focus today shall be on Fornication. So much has been said in our world on this subject, and many present it as a normal phenomenon. Fornication is an illicit sexual intercourse between a man and woman that are not legally married. As the years have progressed, so has this act gone from bad to worse especially among teenagers and young adults. Our world has come to the point were those who do not practice fornication are usually picked on or bullied because they are seen as not being normal. Fornication is a total violation of Gods wonderful gift of Marriage to mankind. It is not just a sin against God but also a sin against yourself if you indulge in it. Here are some reasons you need to consider
1. It leads to an increased rate of infidelity
2. It leads to a decrease in sexual satisfaction in marriage
3. It reduces love and affection in marriage
4. It leads to indecision when making a choice for a marriage partner
5. It can make a marriage very unstable and can possibly lead to divorce.
The Bible states clearly that you should flee from fornication. Don’t be overtaken by youthful lust. The devil is destroying the lives of many young people through this avenue, through the help of the Holy Spirit you can maintain sexual purity until marriage. Don’t also defile you marriage bed because you are engaged to be married. Engagement as a believer is not a license to start living in fornication with your partner.
