For he risked his life for the work of Christ and was at the point of death while trying to do for me the things you couldn’t do because you were far away. {Phil 2:30  TLB}

Genuine Christian love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, based on this, it is always desirable and encouraged among believers because it defends others and equally overlooks their human faults. Our scriptural focus for today states – For he risked his life for the work of Christ and was at the point of death while trying to do for me the things you couldn’t do because you were far away. Apostle Paul further explains why the believers in Philippi should receive and celebrate their brother Epaphroditus. He was a committed and selfless servant of Christ, he was so sick that he almost died, while serving the purpose of Christ and if he had paid the ultimate sacrifice, it would have been on account of serving Christ. Hear this – If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. {Rm 14:8  NLT}
It is obvious that the believers in Philippi could not have all gone to Rome to be with Apostle Paul, so they choose to send a tested and trusted believer among them, whom they know will faithfully discharge their commitment of love both towards the gospel and Apostle Paul. What a joy to see him fulfill the expectations of his brethren for sending him on this missionary journey to Rome.
As believers, we are also on a missionary journey here on earth, with the purpose of serving Christ and advancing the course of the gospel. How you as an individual decides to carry out this assignment is solely your responsibility, but bear in mind that one day you will return home to the Christ that sent you on this journey, just as Epaphroditus was returning home to his brethren in Philippi. What will be your testimony – Celebration or Disappointment – The choice is yours.

As you serve Christ, you equally serve others.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
