Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. {Eph 4:14 NLT}
The purpose of Christ for desiring that all believers should on a daily basis work towards Spiritual maturity in their Christian life is to primarily deliver us from childish attitudes. Naturally children are – Unstable, immature, cannot handle responsibilities, are prone to lies and deception etc. Christ does not want you to remain a Baby believer year in year out, because the damage it will cause both to your spiritual life and the Body of Christ will be enormous. Spiritual maturity is not an event, or something a believer attains once, but rather it is a Life time process the Holy Spirit takes a believer through in his/her earthly pilgrimage. You can only move from one level of maturity to another level, but its a Life long process. When you seek to continuously build up your faith, then you will no longer be immature like a child.
Spiritual maturity brings you to Spiritual Adulthood.
