Following godly Examples Part l
Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. {Phil 3:17 NLT}
To be spiritually minded as a believer, simply means to handle earthly things or live your life here on earth from heavens point of view. Practice occupying your mind/heart with godly principles and not with earthly systems. Our scriptural focus for today states – Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. Having set his life’s goal to daily become more like Christ, Apostle Paul did not hesitate to encourage the Philippian brethren to follow his example. Please note that he didn’t encourage the Philippians to follow his example because he has attained perfection or because he has now come of age by his spiritual experience to take the place of Christ in there lives. Rather in the matter of relentlessly pursuing after Christlikeness, he has set himself up as an example by forsaking all other worldly pleasures that meant so much to him in order to gain Christ and be found in Him.
As a believer of many years, As a Christian leader in Gods house, As a believer in the marketplace can you be bold to say to younger believers, or to those under your supervision in the marketplace – Pattern your lives after mine or Follow my example in Christlikeness?. The lack of credible examples to follow in the house of God today and in the marketplace is destroying the labours of the founding fathers of the Christian faith.
The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul is calling us back to a life of Integrity and Accountability, such that Christ and those that look up to us will be proud of associating with.
Be an Example for others to follow.
