The Blessing of Giving and Receiving Part III

Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once. {Phil 4:16  NLT}

We need the strength that comes from Christ as believers, to enable us to do not only those things which are purely Christian, but even those which are the fruit of moral virtue. Our scriptural focus for today states – Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once.

It is an excellent attitude to see Apostle Paul who has been greatly endowed by God, abounding in grateful returns to the people that have ministered to his necessities according to their ability. Apostle Paul commends the Philippian brethren for not just hearing that he was in need and sent him financial help once, but that they did it more than once. They supplied his needs as the opportunity presented itself.

Apostle Paul makes mention of the kindness of the Philippian church to him, not only out of gratitude, but also for the encouragement of the brethren.

There giving was not limited to their physical boundaries, but they still ministered to him even when he was no longer physically with them. They did this to demonstrate their appreciation for the labour of love he(Apostle Paul) has done over their lives and to make him understand that distance was not a barrier to the love of Christ that he has sown in their hearts.

That you have given once to a ministers personal needs or towards advancing the work of Christ on the earth, is not an excuse to stop giving, do it over and over again as the Lord provides for you and as the opportunity presents itself. Learn also to go beyond your physical boundaries to be a blessing to both the ministers of God and the work of Ministry.

Be known for generosity

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
