Faith Expressed in Love Part II
Always remember that God is for you, and surely He will not allow any situation in your life, that He has not already programmed to work together for your good. Our scriptural focus for today states – For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. {Gal 5:6 NLT}
It will be important to emphasize that under the covenant of grace that Christ brought, faith can only be expressed through an unshakeable love for God. The death of Christ for humanity was on the basis of love. Hear God express His own faith through love – “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. {John 3:16 NLT}
In Gen 22 God tested our father Abraham with the intention of discovering if his faith is actually on the basis of love or because of the great man He has made out of him, and in verse 12 God says – Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
Beloved, know that God will not demand less from us in this generation, and the question before us is – On what basis do you do the things you do in the church?. Is it to get more profit from God and enjoy a more comfortable live here on earth or is it truly on the basis of love for God. If God chooses to test you the way He tested father Abraham to prove your faith in Him on the basis of love, what will be your impression about God?. Our faith cannot be acceptable before God if it is not built on the most important virtues which is faith and love. When Jesus showed Himself to His disciples on the sea of Tiberias His question was if you love me more than earthly provisions and comfort, show your love by steps of faith. Friends lets show our love for God by the steps of faith we take daily.
If you love Christ, you will do His purpose.
