Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. {Eph 6:13 NLT}
In this context, the emphasis is not that of a massive invasion of the domain of evil powers on believers, but of individual soldiers/believers standing their grounds by virtue of who they know they are in Christ, against any assault/attack from the devil. Our scriptural focus for today states – Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Christ through the ministry of the Holy Spirit has made available every spiritual weapon you need to continuously maintain His victory over the devil, but the responsibility is yours to either put them on or neglect them. The only way to be victorious is to always put on the spiritual weapons the Holy Spirit makes available to you, but to rely on human weapons is only walking into the waiting hands of your enemy the devil. Hear this – The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. {2 Cor 10:4 NIV}. The purpose of God in spiritual warfare is not just to see you being victorious over the devil, but more importantly, He wants to always see you Standing Firm after each battle. Bear in mind always, that in Gods army, which you are privileged to be selected as a soldier, casualties are not part of His expectations whenever His army goes into the battle field.
After each battle, God expects you to be the last man standing.
