He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. {Eph 5:27 NLT}
As we continue to look at Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross, we discover more reasons why He choose to demonstrate His love for the church through the ultimate price. Our scriptural focus for today states – He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. As we learn more from the role of Christ to the church, as compared to the role of a husband to his wife, it is clear that whatever step Christ took to cleanse the church of her spots, wrinkles, blemish or faults, He did it to present to Himself a wonderful, glorious, holy and beautiful church. Similarly, whatever step a husband takes to help his wife become better, he is doing it to present to himself a great, wonderful, beautiful, and glorious wife. The husband’s and wives must understand that this is a pruning process, it may take time and my not be easy but it is worth the sacrifice. So do not be weary in doing this good work, no matter how bad or good your wife is now, there is a great harvest before you, if you don’t give up. Remember that whatever sacrifice you make either as a husband or even as a wife, to improve your spouse, is primarily for your own good.
Determine today to make the required sacrifice to have a glorious spouse.
