No Conflicts Part I
As long as you know that the Almighty God is on your side, it doesn’t matter who or what is against you, be rest assured that you will always be victorious. Our scriptural focus for today states – Is there a conflict, then, between God’s law and God’s promises? Absolutely not! If the law could give us new life, we could be made right with God by obeying it. {Gal 3:21 NLT}
Having looked at the limitations of the law and the obvious advantages of the Promise, it became necessary for the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul to address this subject – Is there any conflict between the law and the Promise. The church then was made up of Jewish Christians who still believed in the law as the way to righteousness with God and the Gentile Christians whose faith were built on the provisions of the Promise/Grace.
No doubt there were arguments about grey area’s between the law and the Promise then, as it is in today’s Christianity. Some believers felt there was conflict between the law and the Promise, but the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul said there is No Conflict. It will be important to state that the Promise/Grace was given to augment the limitations of the law, as such the two cannot be in conflict.
The desire of God from the fall of Adam and Eve was to establish a process that can guarantee New Life in righteousness for all humans, then the law was introduced but unfortunately it could not achieve it. If we could achieve New Life in righteousness by obeying the law, then there would not have been any need to revert back to the Promise that was given 430 years before the law, but the limitations of the law made the Promise/Grace inevitable.
The Promise is complementing the law.
Have a Grace filled day, Good News Awaits you.
