Stand In The Truth Part III
Beloved, the transformation of the human mind/spirit to conform to the God kind of life is not an automatic event that happens at salvation but a process that depends on your personal devotion to the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Our scriptural focus for today states – But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it. {Col 1:23 NLT}
If you allow yourself to listen to the accusations of the devil, definitely you will drift away from the truth of the gospel and assurance you received. Therefore it is very fundamental for every believer to be established in the truth so that you will not be tossed about by every wind of doctrine. This church age is truly experiencing every wind of doctrine currently and if you don’t personally spend time with the Holy Spirit in Gods word to build and establish the assurance you received when you heard the Good News, you may be doing your spiritual life a great disservice.
It must be very clear to you why the gospel of Jesus Christ is called the Good News. There are so many news making headlines in the world today, there are also some messages being preached in church today that are not the Good News. The angle said to those shepherds – I bring you Good Tidings (News) of Great Joy. The gospel is the only Good News in this world that gives assurance of a good life with God both here on earth and in eternity.
The Good News of the gospel builds your confidence in Christ.
