Living In The Light III

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. {Phil 4:6  TLB}

As a believer, your inner attitudes should not be a reflection of the outward circumstances surrounding your life. If you don’t cultivate the spiritual habit of always being joyful, you will definitely not be seeing life from the right perspective. Our scriptural focus for today states – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.
Apostle Paul’s appeal to the Philippian brethren came at a time when the economic, social and religious events were threatening their faith in Christ and the devil as usual was using those unpleasant circumstances to instill fear and worry/anxiety in the heart of the brethren. In the face of these obvious unpleasant circumstances the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul says to the church “Don’t worry or be anxious about anything, instead pray about everything”.
It is this same admonition that the Holy Spirit is giving to the church today, especially in the face of the obvious unpleasant economic, social and religious happening’s in our current world. This admonition has become necessary because;
1. To worry is a show of faithlessness
2. To worry opens a believer up to the devil and unbelief
3. To worry prolongs the solution/answer
4. To worry takes away the power of prayer
5. To worry makes you sad and always tensed up
6. To worry steals away your joy and peace
7. To worry gradually takes away your authority in Christ and leaves you powerless. Etc
Praying about everything, no matter how Big or small the situation seems to you, is one of the antidotes to worry/anxiety. Bear in mind that this is not a call to a carefree lifestyle, because to care and be genuinely concerned is one thing, to worry or be anxious is another thing, the choice is yours.

Instead of worrying, genuinely talk to God in faith.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
