Family Relationship Part VIII

Father’s must learn through their submission to the Holy Spirit how to bring their children to obedience without provoking or harassing them. Our scriptural focus for today states – Fathers, do not provoke or irritate or fret your children [do not be hard on them or harass them], lest they become discouraged and sullen and morose and feel inferior and frustrated. [Do not break their spirit.] {Col 3:21 AMP}

The dangers or damages caused in the life of a child when the father decides to use methods that are not supported by the bible are enormous. Sometimes in the bid to bring correction you can end up destroying your relationship with that child, which is your greatest access to the life of that precious child God has blessed you with.

As a father or even as a mother, when you form the habit of being hard/harsh on your children, it may not be in the best interest of your family. There is a great difference between being firm and being hard/harsh on your children. The more you are hard/harsh on your children, the tendency that they will become discouraged, inferior and frustrated is very high and definitely your relationship with that child will go bad. Some children grew up with inferiority complex because of the way and manner they were raised. See your children as Gods precious gift to you and trust the Holy Spirit to help you bring out the best in them.

Don’t frustrate them, rather bring out the best in them.

Have a Grace filled day – Good news awaits you
