Standing In Prayer Part IV
Beloved, it is your personal responsibility to ensure that your believe system, standards for living, goals/visions and actions are not a product of the world system but the scriptures. Our scriptural focus for today states – I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. {Col 2:2 NLT}
Apostle Paul didn’t want the brethren to be encouraged in their heart only, he also wanted them to be knit together by strong ties of godly love. The place of godly love among brethren cannot be over emphasized, if we all must fulfill the purpose of the death and resurrection of Christ on this earth.. The devil knows that true and sincere godly love is the builder of Unity among believers in Christ, so he does all within his reach to plant seeds of discord that will build envy, malice, hatred, bitterness, disunity etc among believers. Hear the words of Jesus – So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” {John 13:34-35}
Beloved, if there is any important prayer point that should be prayed in every service today is that the hearts of believers in Christ be knit together by strong godly love. Remember that sin made every human to be selfish and self centered, without the ability to truly love others but in Christ, the Holy Spirit sheds the love of God abroad in our heart as the only antidote to the poison of sin.
Don’t stop at praying for love, practice godly love.
