The Believers Inheritance Part II
Beloved, Christ was made the head of all things in heaven and on earth for the benefit of the church, and if you’re a member of His church by salvation ensure you enjoy the benefits He provides. Our scriptural focus for today states – Always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. {Col 1:12 NLT}
The joy of Apostle Paul knew no bounds as he tries to explain to the Colossian brethren the great inheritance that God has made available to those His children who walk in the light. Christ is that glorious light that the Holy Spirit is describing in this passage. In essence, he is saying that God’s inheritance can only be accessed by those who live in Christ. God expects all His children to live and walk daily in the light.
So the condition for being a partaker of the glorious inheritance God has made available for His children is to live in the light which is Christ. Its possible to be in the church but not walk daily in the light which is Christ. Hear what the scriptures say about those who walk in the light and how they should maintain their daily walk in the light – But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. {1Jn 1:7 NLT}
If you daily depend on Christ and not on your own abilities to keep you in the light of God’s glorious righteousness, then the blood of Christ ensures that you’re not defiled by sin in any way.
Be in the light and enjoy God’s inheritance
