For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. {Eph 6:15 NLT}
Every believer has been called by God to be a messenger of the gospel of Christ, this is one of the greatest privilege God extended to humans on this earth. Our scriptural focus for today states – For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. The word shoe as used in this scripture is a figurative representation of the believers readiness/eagerness to proclaim the Good News about Christ to the world around him/her. For you to give the peace that comes from the gospel of Christ to others, you must undoubtedly have this peace inside you. Hear the words of Christ less your heart faint – I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. {Jn 14:27 NLT}. The peace that comes from the gospel of Christ is part of the spiritual weapons for our spiritual warfare because, in the course of proclaiming Christ to the world we will face resistance, persecutions, insults, provocation, ridicule etc. If you don’t have this peace, when you face any of these unpleasant situations in the course of reaching out to the world, you will defeat the purpose of Christ and you will lose the souls you would have won for Christ. Always putting on the peace that comes from the gospel of Christ, makes you fully prepared/ready to carry out your spiritual responsibility as a solider of Christ.
Peace is a gift from Christ, give it to the world around you.
