Living By The Spirit Part III
Beloved your safety, protection and prosperity lies in your ability to be open and receptive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit in all areas of your life. Our scriptural focus for today states – So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. {Gal 5:16 NLT}
The sinful nature is the product of the disobedience of Adam and Eve our first parent’s to the instructions of God regarding how to live here on earth. As humans are born into the world the devil seeks to control every human life through the sinful nature. The sinful nature produces all kinds of evil thoughts that has the capacity to perpetual keep humans in bondage to the devil. Apostle Paul describing the sinful nature said – But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. {Rm 7:23 NLT}
The sinful nature is a power within the human mind/spirit, so it can only take another higher power that has the ability to live within the human mind/spirit to defeat the sinful nature and only the Holy Spirit has such abilities. For instance when a believer in Christ sees himself/herself struggling with a particular sinful/bad habit, the solution does not come from taking practical steps but the solution will only come from building a better and consistent relationship with the Holy Spirit. Bear in mind that anything that makes you struggle with living a consistent life of righteousness is a spirit and cannot be subdued by any physical or practical step.
Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is a learning process, the more you know Him and desire to always want to know Him the more He reveals Himself to you. The more the Holy Spirit reveals Himself in your life the more the sinful nature is subdued.
Don’t allow the sinful nature be your master.
