As a believer, when the unpleasant situations you go through is occasioned by your belief and stand for the gospel of Christ, it is counted to you as Righteousness before God. Our scriptural focus for today states – For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. Apostle Paul was willing to go to any extent to demonstrate his undying love and commitment to the advancement of the gospel of Christ here on earth. No wonder he can declare boldly – For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, {Rm 1:16a NLT}
Sometimes believers go through unpleasant situations occasioned by either their disobedience to Gods word or character failure. In apostle Paul’s case, neither of these was the situation, even the unbelieving roman soldier’s could testify that his imprisonment was because of his proclamation of Christ to the world around him. You may never have the opportunity to be put in a physical prison like apostle paul, but there will be many unpleasant situations that will confront you during your earthly pilgrimage. Will it be obvious to you and to those around you that Christ is the reason for which you are going through such unpleasant situation or will it be as a result of your lack of respect for spiritual things. Its time for your light to shine very bright or even brighter both to your fellow believers and the unbelievers around you for a testimony that will bring glory to God.
How you act in such situations reflect what you believe.
