Christ Is The Head Part VII
Beloved, Christ has fulfilled the purpose for which the law was given, so live now by the fulfilled version which is Christ. Our scriptural focus for today states – These rules are talking about earthly things that are gone after they are used. They are only human commands and teachings. {Col 2:22 ERV}
As believers we must learn through the help of the Holy Spirit to differentiate between things that we don’t like as a person from the principles of the scriptures, especially when such things we dislike are not spelled out as sin in the scriptures.
When we impose our dislikes which are not sinful on the scriptures and on other believers, we have degenerate to the realm of human commands and teachings which has nothing to do with Christ and His mission on the earth.
Some of these human commands and teachings as our scriptural focus puts it are products of mixing Christianity with traditional beliefs, while some are church doctrines that are not consistent with the scriptures.
Beloved let’s stay true to the teachings of Christ and continuously resist the spirit of error that is at work in the world today. Hear this – Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. (Jn 8:31 NLT)
Continue only in the teachings of Christ.
