No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for his body the Church, of which we are parts. {Eph 5:29 – 30 TLB}
Christ cares and nourishes the church because, we are joint heirs with Him, that is why we are also called His Body. Our scriptural focus for today states – No one hates his own body but lovingly cares for it, just as Christ cares for His body the church, of which we are parts. As believers, the principal reason why Christ continues to demonstrate His love and care towards us is because we are part of His own body. In the same way a husband is expected by Christ to love his own wife not because she is very good, submissive, obedient, hardworking etc, even though believing wives are expected by Christ to be the best in the character. A husband should love, care, cherish and nourish his wife because she is part of his own body. No husband can hate his physical body, therefore, there is No Justifiable reason or reasons for any husband to do anything that demonstrates hatred towards his wife. If you allow such practices in your own marriage as a husband, remember you will never be guiltless before God. Keep doing your best to measure up to the stature and standard of Christ.
