Be Determined

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. {Phil 3:14  NLT}

A person does not become a winning athlete by listening to lectures, watching movies, reading athletic books, or by training extensively. A person becomes a winning athlete by getting into race and determining to win and not just participate. Our scriptural focus for today states – I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Apostle Paul had great zeal when he was persecuting the church but the zeal that took over him after his salvation experience was ten times greater than the former. He wasn’t satisfied by getting the wonderful salvation experience, its clear he will only be satisfied when he makes it to the end and meets with God to obtain the prize for which God took the risk of giving Christ to the world.
If you intend to run the spiritual race according to the rules God has set and get to the end to receive the most precious gift ever, then you must be determined. Note that your salvation will not be complete if you fall by the way side, or fail to run according to the rules of engagement set by God, that will amount to a waste of your time and effort while on earth. It will be important to state that it is only those who against all odds endure or press on to the end that will experience total salvation. What God has made available to believers here on earth is just a tip of the iceberg, its nothing compared to the actual prize reserved for us if we make it to the end in righteousness.
A lot of distractions have been introduced into this race by the devil, and its aimed at deflating your determination and confidence – Please keep pressing forward and let the thought of meeting God and receiving the ultimate prize rule your heart.

As you keep pressing, God keeps working on you.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
