Living In The Light VI

 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus. {Phil 4:7  TLB}

One of the greatest privileges you should enjoy as a believer is the ability that comes from the Holy Spirit that enables you to make the right decisions in issues that concerns life and destiny. Our scriptural focus for today states –  If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

Apostle Paul’s exhortation to the Philippian brethren underscores the vital attitude of Christian living. He says if they will learn to prayer instead of troubling themselves with worry or anxiety, if they will learn to express their trust in Gods ability after praying by continuing in Thanksgiving rather than unbelief and sorrow of heart, they will open themselves up to experiencing the Peace of God.

When you heed the exhortation in phil 4:6, then the peace of God like a river will overwhelm that troubled heart/mind of yours. The peace of God is the inner tranquility a believer enjoys because of his/her relationship with God through Christ, it is not based on any outward feeling or experience.

Hear the words of Christ – “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid. {John 14:27 TLB}

Gods gift of peace to the believer is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand, because its not based on earthly circumstances. Humans only experience momentary peace when they have more money to meet their needs or they are out with friends partying, but the peace of of God which a believer enjoys is solely a spiritual virtue. God expects every believer to learn the act of cultivating that Peace.

Ensure you experience Gods peace always.
