And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear. {Phil 1:14  NLT}

As believers, we don’t just live for ourselves alone, rather we live also for other people. Our actions whether righteous or sinful has a way of greatly influencing other people. Our scriptural focus for today states – And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear. The result of apostle Paul’s imprisonment became an unexpected one, instead of fuelling discouragement, murmuring, backsliding, bitterness towards God in the church as intended by the devil, it became a great source of encouragement for the brethren and an opportunity to advance the gospel of Christ. The brethren who gained confidence and boldness, were before now afraid of the punishment they will likely go through in the hands of the roman authorities because of their faith in Christ, as such they deliberately stayed away from proclaiming the good news of the gospel of Christ. They were indifferent towards suffering for Christ and the gospel, But apostle Paul’s example changed all of that, they also damned the obvious consequence of being imprisoned and became co-labourers with Paul in the gospel.
Whatever unpleasant situation you go through because of the gospel has a way of producing in other believers faith and strength of character to also stand for the gospel and be willing to also suffer for the sake of Christ.
It is clear from the example of apostle Paul and the Philippian church, that truly all things whether they are good or bad, has the ability by God’s power to work together for both our good and the good of the gospel.

Be Confident, Be Bold, Be Fearless for the gospel.
