Christ Is The Head Part VIII
Beloved let’s stay through to the teachings of Christ and continuously resist the spirit of error that is at work in the world today. Our scriptural focus for today states – These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. {Col 2:23 NLT}
Some of these rules and regulations are a product of mixing Christianity with traditional belief’s, while some are a product of some church doctrines/dogmas that are not consistent with the scriptures. From the human perspective, these rules may seem very wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial and severe bodily discipline.
Sometimes, humans are quick to identify with doctrines that emphasis more on outward self-denial practice’s thinking that Christ will need such to help them be righteous, and because some of these rules agree with our traditional belief’s, it is easy to get some scripturally ignorance Christians to both believing and practising them.
Beloved, because these rules seem wise in the human eyes/sense’s does in any have the approval of Christ as a means to be righteous.
Righteousness is a gift and not by works.
