That the husband and wife are one body is proved by the Scripture, which says, “A man must leave his father and mother when he marries so that he can be perfectly joined to his wife, and the two shall be one. {Eph 5:31  TLB}

The mathematics of two matured male and female adults becoming One, instead of two is only possible in Gods plan for marriage on this earth, and can only be proved by the Scriptures. Our scriptural focus for today states – A man must leave his father and mother when he marries so that he can be perfectly joined to his wife, and the two shall be one. Firstly, The issue of the man leaving is father and mother after his wedding is a divine command from God and not an optional suggestion, which can be either obeyed or ignored. Secondly, for the man to leave his father and mother after marriage does not in anyway suggest he should abandon them, cut every physical, financial, spiritual, or family ties with them. The biblical principle of a man leaving his father and mother after his marriage to the wife of his youth is for the following reasons and more;
1. To help him establish his own family with his wife as his parents did.
2. To enable the new wife assume her position in his life.
3. To also help him lead his new family with the cooperation of his wife and the Holy Spirit.
4. To help him break away from parental control and influence.
5. To set him on the path of achieving Gods purpose for marriage.{which is a three cord covenant, husband +wife+God}
6. To also bring out the leader in him
7. To help him love One person{his wife}, the way Christ loved the church.
If marriage were merely a matter of hierarchy, gender equality, or a reproduction of the husband’s family ideas only, no one will want to leave the comfort of his or her own parents home.

Leaving launches every husband into Manhood.
