The New Creation Part I
Beloved in your Christian development, you must trust the Holy Spirit to bring you to the level of spiritual transformation where the devil loses his controlling influence over your life. Our scriptural focus for today states – It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. {Gal 6:15 NLT}
The subject of circumcision or uncircumcision lost its spiritual relevance when Christ died and resurrected. So anyone holding onto it or any similar practice of the law is simply insisting on a way of life that God has abolished.
For centuries, the nation of Israel had been the only people called the ‘People of God’ and the law had been the way of life that empowered them to enjoy the privilege of been the people of God among the whole creation. Although all this was done in preparation for the coming of Christ. Now that Christ has offered Himself and has also finished the great work of redemption, God has set aside the law that empowered only the nation of Israel to be His people. He has brought into the world a New Creation and a New Nation.
The major purpose of the travail of Christ on the cross was to give birth to a New Creation, like the scripture says – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! {2Cor 5:17 NIV}
Today God is calling out from both the Jews and those formerly considered as the Gentiles – A New People for the glory of His name. A New creation fashioned in righteousness and power that will defeat the devil and his cohorts.
The new creation is only in Christ.
