The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit XI

Beloved, joy is one of the proofs that God is part of your living here on earth, for in His presence is fullness of joy. Don’t allow anything steal it away from you. Our scriptural focus for today states – Gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things. {Gal 5:23  NLT}
The work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer in Christ is to make that person more like Christ for God’s glory and not for the praise of men. Just as divine wisdom is the right use of knowledge, so is gentleness/meekness the right use of authority and power. It will be important to emphasis that meekness does not in any way mean weakness. Jesus speaking about himself in Matt 11:29 said – I am meek and lowly in heart and the bible speaking about the man of God Moses in Num 12:3 said – He was very meek, above all men of his days, yet no one could accuse either of them as being weak, rather they accomplished great things for God with their gentleness/meekness. Meekness brings a believer in Christ to the point were he/she is submissive to God’s word and is also considerate to the needs of others.
Meekness helps the believer in Christ to be mild and develops the ability to be able to indulge others, especially when they hurt us. It is also the antidote for overcoming the feeling of revenge. It also works at balancing the human tempers and emotions.

Be meek and gentle

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
