Living By The Spirit Part V

Beloved careful planning is presenting your plans, schedules, and visions before God and trusting in His guidance to actualize them. Our scriptural focus for today states – The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. {Gal 5:17  NLT}
The sinful nature is fueled by humans living in sin, while for the Holy Spirit the opposite which is righteousness is what He always desires for humans. One of the responsibilities of either the Holy Spirit or the sinful nature (which is an evil spirit from the devil) is to produce either righteous desires or sinful desires in the heart/mind of a human. Living in sin or living a life of righteousness is based on the choices an individual makes per time. These spirit beings have the ability to produce these thoughts but they dont have the ability to insist that a human must follow their own desires, but it is all subject the the human will.
Hear this – Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. {Rm 6:16 NLT}. To live in righteousness requires that you choose to live your life on the desires the Holy Spirit produces in your life. Based on this it will be important to state that the human mind/heart is the actual battle ground for spiritual warfare. Internal spiritual warfare is the production of righteous thoughts/desires by the Holy Spirit against the production of sinful thoughts/desires by the sinful nature. For instances, you will notice that thoughts come into your heart and it will appear like someone is speaking to you in order to convince you take a particular decision, that is spiritual warfare going on.

Always listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
