In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. {Eph 6:16 TLB}
Spiritual warfare is a daily affair and as such requires that believers should always be prepared to confront and conquer the devil and his demons. Our scriptural focus for today states – In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Here Faith is the confidence, trust, and the commitment which a believer has in God through Christ that propels him/her to confront every appearance of satan and be confident of victory always. Every believer is expected by God to always carry Faith as a shield, because it has a dual purpose;
1. Weapon of Defense – Faith is a defensive weapon which protects believers from the fiery arrows/darts of satan. Satan shoots his fiery arrows at the believer’s hearts and mind through the following: lies about Gods promises, blasphemous thoughts, hateful thoughts towards other humans, doubts, and ignites the desires for sin etc. When you notice any of these fiery arrows of the devil in your heart or mind, its your responsibility to quench/stop them through the shield of Faith you have in Christ. If you don’t stop these arrows of the devil by faith, you will be setting up yourself for defeat
2. Weapon of Offence – God expects believers to also used the shield of Faith as a weapon of offence/attack against the devil. Having established that believers are in a daily spiritual warfare, relying on the shield of faith as a defensive weapon alone will not ensure victory.
