Christ Is The Head Part IX
Beloved, that these rules appears wise in the human eyes/senses does not in anyway have the approval of Christ as a means to be righteous. Our scriptural focus for today states – These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. {Col 2:23 NLT}
Sometimes we think that Christ requires us who are joint heirs with Him to subject ourselves to some severe bodily discipline or pious self-denial practice’s to be acceptable before God.
It is not out of place to have a personal decision to put yourself under some bodily discipline in order to improve the quality of your health/physical body but when the goal for doing it is spiritual, then you have missed the righteousness that is of Christ. It is also unscriptural and will be misleading others, if you decide to make a doctrine out of any personal bodily discipline/self-denial practice you have instituted for yourself.
The law had its strength on self-denial practice’s and severe bodily discipline and the children of Israel to whom the law was given could not please God.
Beloved, these practice’s will not and cannot provide any help to you in order to conquer the evil desires the devil wants to rule your life.
Christ is the only antidote for sin
Have a grace filled day – Good news awaits you.
