The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit Part XII
Beloved quit listening to what the world is saying about you, because you’re sons and daughters of the Most High God, but always pay close attention to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you. Our scriptural focus for today states – Gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things. {Gal 5:23 NLT}
Believers in Christ are to live sober and chaste lives bearing in mind that they are representing Christ here on earth. They should not be adulterers, fornicators, sensualists, drunkards nor troublemakers. Self-control denotes self-mastery, that is the spiritual ability that comes from the Holy Spirit that helps a believer in Christ master or take full control of his/her character, emotions, passions or habits. Self-control was given to us by Christ as a tool to curb the human nature/the flesh.
After sin came into the human world, humans lost the ability to say No to sin or any practice that is against righteousness. It became a struggle or almost an impossible thing for humans to control their emotions, passions or habits. With self-control, the Holy Spirit simply empowers the believer to have Dominion over every manifestation of the sinful nature.
It will be important to emphasize that it is the influence of the Holy Spirit on a believers mind/hearts that teaches the believer in Christ to restrain his/her passions, and to learn to govern himself/herself in righteousness.
In conclusion, Apostle Paul declares without fear or favour that there is no law against humans who live there daily lives here on earth based on the Nine fruit of the Holy Spirit. Those who adorn their lives with this fruit cannot be condemned by any law, be it God’s moral law because they are already fulfilled in the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit over rides every law.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
