And he certainly was ill; in fact, he almost died. But God had mercy on him—and also on me, so that I would not have one sorrow after another. {Phil 2:27  NLT}

We as believers must willingly accept to serve others either in the church, office or in the society, in order to be the Light of the world and to be example to other believers as God expects from us. Our scriptural focus for today states – And he certainly was ill; in fact, he almost died. But God had mercy on him—and also on me, so that I would not have one sorrow after another. Whatever illness that Epaphroditus suffered while supporting Apostle Paul in the work of the gospel in Rome was very serious, because he almost died.
The phrase – “But God had mercy on him” – demonstrates Gods own concern in the afflictions of believers, and He will always show up in such times of need and distress. It was clear that all hope was lost in this situation, for Apostle Paul to say that the mercy of God wasn’t shown on epaphroditus alone but equally on him, because by Gods timely intervention, himself was also delivered from multiplied sorrow. Remember as at this time, Apostle Paul was still in prison which was a sorrowful situation, to add this to the death of the one sent by the Philippian church to care for him, would have broken him, but God who knows the end from the beginning who will not allow His children come to the breaking point of their faith, showed up and demonstrated His mercy, as He will also show up and demonstrate His mercy for anyone currently going situations that presents itself as though you will end up in sorrow and shame.
Hear this – The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. {Ps 34:19  NLT}.
Beloved, whatever the situation is that is threatening your faith in Christ, the advice is – Don’t throw away your confidence in Christ – His mercy will always deliver you out of that circumstance and praises will fill your mouth.

God will always be merciful to His children.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
