Living In The Light VII

 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus. {Phil 4:7  TLB}

As a believer, you started enjoying eternal life the day you accepted Gods offer of redemption through the work of Christ. So let the joy of eternity with God be the basis for your daily living here on earth. Our scriptural focus for today states – If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus

The Lord Jesus Christ is the source of the peace a believer enjoys here on earth. It is important to note that the peace that comes from God is beyond human understanding or comprehension. In essence, it does not follow the human order but the God order.

The believer has access to the peace of God at any time, whether it is a time of plenty or lack, sorrow or joy. The peace of God can be likened to a soldier assigned to watch over a certain area to ensure security and safety, in like manner, God gave you His peace to guard and protect your thoughts and keep your heart safe to enable you trust Christ for the desired result.

When the peace of God guards the heart/mind of the believer, it also wards-off intruders like fear, worry, anxiety, depression/sorrow of heart etc. These intruders into our spirit if not checked by the peace of God, are the things that put us on the edge and make believers think that God has abandoned them in their time of need. Never loose sight of this truth – that all the security, joy and peace you will enjoy as a believer is only found in Christ.

God gave us His peace to keep us at rest.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
