Your Life, Your Seed Part III
Beloved, do all the good you can, by all the means you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can, because doing good is our way of living. Our scriptural focus for today states – Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. {Gal 6:8 NLT}
Having seen the consequences of sowing to the sinful nature, lets consider the second field where humans can sow their seed during their life time here on earth. The scripture declares – But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. What a great contrast from reaping corruption/decay if a human sows to the sinful nature during his/her lifetime, and reaping everlasting life when that same human decides to sow to the Spirit.
Sowing to the Spirit or pleasing the Spirit is simply living the life of Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit that lives in the inside of a believer in Christ. So if you allow the Holy Spirit guide and influence your character, and the use of the material/financial blessings in your life for the actual purpose for which God made them available to you, then be sure you’re sowing or pleasing the Holy Spirit. Pleasing the Spirit in this context is not just about our spiritual devotedness to God but also about how we give the Holy Spirit the liberty to influence the management of the resources God has blessed us with. Bear in mind that the resources God has blessed you with is not just to give you the best of life and comfort here on earth, but to serve the kingdom purpose of God here on this earth.
Pleasing the Spirit is the purpose you have Christ.
