Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. {Eph 6:18 NLT}
As believers, we cannot engage in spiritual warfare based on our human power, it does not matter how strong or talented we may think we are. Prayer is the source of spiritual energy that enables the believer to both wear the armour and wield the sword. Our scriptural focus for today states – Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. {Eph 6:18a NLT}. Our scriptural focus highlights the importance of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with an outward evidence of speaking in tongues. Our natural human tongues – English, igbo, hausa, yoruba etc are limited in prayer and cannot sustain our prayer momentum for a very long time. The spiritual prayer language you have been given by the Holy Spirit is for the following purposes;
1. Ensure that your prayer is always based on the will of God
2. It helps sustain your prayer momentum for a very long time. {It can enable you to pray for hours}
3. It makes spiritual power/energy available for spiritual warfare
4. It edifies your spirit.
5. It is the active way of engaging your spirit in prayer
6. Its a language unknown both to the human sense and the devil
7. Its a great weapon for spiritual warfare.
It will be important to note that the prayer language of speaking in tongues is for all believers, hear this – I wish you could all speak in tongues. {1Cor 14:5a NLT}, but the ounce is on you to personal believe it and receive it. Praying in tongues always and in every occasion, is a spiritual habit you must develop as a believer to be successful in spiritual warfare.
