Living By The Spirit Part VII

Beloved, your spiritual maturity is not measured by how deep you’re involved in serving in the church, but by how straight you walk in obedience to God’s words/instructions. Our scriptural focus for today states –  But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. {Gal 5:18  NLT}
Living by the guidance of the Holy Spirit ushers you into the higher spiritual life, were neither the sinful nature nor the law of Moses can influence your life while on earth. The solution to the spiritual warfare we are engaged in daily as God’s children is not to pit our will against the sinful nature(the flesh) or the law of Moses but to surrender our will to the Holy Spirit. Sometimes believers in Christ struggle with totally surrendering their will to the Holy Spirit because they are afraid of losing control over the the running of their lives. It will be important to state that the more a believer in Christ surrenders totally to the influence of the Holy Spirit, the more that believer is becoming like Christ and automatically he/she will fulfill his/her God given destiny here on earth.
When you surrender to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you’re no longer under the obligations of the law because the Holy Spirit brings you to the point where obedience to God’s instructions is on the basis of love for God and no longer a burden. Hear this – I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. {Ps 40:8 NLT}
It is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to write God’s instructions in the heart of a believer, so that it become part and parcel of his/her life, so that obeying it becomes very easy. Jesus says take my yoke upon you and allow Me teach you.

You can’t win by your own strength and will, allow the Holy Spirit teach you.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
