Today we continue our series on – Amazing Stories of Love. Movies constantly bombard us with unrealistic expectations of love. Sometimes Real life presents some relationships as poor, brutish, and short. But there’s no need to feel bad or be afraid of true love, Read on to restore your faith in true love.

Sometimes, the most touching love stories are those that carry on after one person dies. Fred Stobaugh has never gotten over losing the love of his life. He married Lorraine, the “prettiest girl [he] ever saw ” in Peoria, Illinois in 1940, and their romance was always happy and wonderful. They had three kids and four grandchildren. After 73 years of marriage, Lorraine passed away.
Fred, now 96, lived on and tried to mend his broken heart. A month after his wife’s death, he came across an ad for a local song-writing contest. By his own admission, Fred was tone deaf and a non-musician , but he wrote one of the most beautiful and heart wrenching songs to hit the airwaves. He lacked the musical skills to record “Sweet Lorraine,” but he sent in the lyrics along with a letter. Green Shoe Studio was so moved that they decided to make his song come to life. Then they made a short documentary titled – A Letter From Fred to show the world Fred’s story.
N/B – True love doesn’t happen by accident, it is built intentionally, deliberately, with purpose in mind and in the end it will always be worth it.
The story of Fred and Lorraine instructs that;
– True love can carry on even after the death of one of the spouse.
– True love should leave us with good memories of our loved ones that can help us carry on even after they have passed on and not bad memories that encourage divorce.
– Learn to celebrate your spouse not just when they have passed on but also when you’re both sharing your lives together.
– True love is as strong as death, build your marriage to be a true reflection of God’s love to humanity.

Celebrate your spouse always.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
