Slavery and Freedom Part 1

Your God designed destiny on this earth as His child cannot be changed despite detours and delays. Only a deliberate and perpetual life of sin has the ability to alter it. Stay in righteousness. Our scriptural focus for today states – And now Jerusalem is just like Mount Sinai in Arabia, because she and her children live in slavery to the law. {Gal 4:25  NLT}
Again Apostle Paul represents Hagar as Jerusalem, but this time, his illustration presents her as the first-century city of Jerusalem. A city in slavery to the then Roman empire and secondly in slavery also to the law. The way of Hagar became that of a life held in slavery and producing slaves as her offspring. When a life is held in slavery either by the law or by a more stronger human authority, that life or such lives will never come to their full potentials as designed by God, rather they will become the opposite of God’s creation. Be reminded that God’s intention for giving the law was not to enslave His people but those to whom the law was given made it so. In the same vein, the intention of father Abraham for taking Hagar from Egypt was not to have children by her, and make she and her children slaves under the law, she was meant to be a domestic worker in his house.
It will be important to state that our decisions if wrong has the ability to change the course of our destiny and that of those around us, therefore we must be careful while making decisions and ensure that we a fully guided by the Holy Spirit. Wrong decisions has a way of not just derailing our present life alone but has the possibility of enslaving our future. Be wise.

She decision made her live in slavery with her children.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
