That is why God says in the Scriptures, “Awake, O sleeper, and rise up from the dead; and Christ shall give you light.” {Eph 5:14 TLB}
As those who have been illuminated by the Light of Christ, living in the Light on a daily basis cannot be over emphasized. Our scriptural focus for today says – Awake O sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and Christ shall give you light. The scripture refers to any person living on this earth without the light of Christ as a Sleeper, and also as a dead person. The biblical description of the sorry state of a sinner should spur every believer up to both live in the light daily and also to allow the Holy Spirit shine the light of Christ through us to the dying world around us. If sin makes humans sleeper’s and dead spiritually, then you who have been made alive by the light of Christ must do all within your power to deliver sinners from spiritual sleep and death. Christ is the only source of spiritual light, but He needs you to shine His light around the world. It is also clear from our scriptural focus that the intention of Christ towards sinners who He sees as dead men walking on this earth is to rescue them from eternal damnation and not to destroy them as is the thinking and teaching in some christian circles.
May this world experience the light of Christ through you.
