Living Right Part I
Beloved, let your love and concern for other believers and especially for sinners be a replica of the love of Christ for humanity that made Him willingly sacrificed all for our redemption. Our scriptural focus for today states – For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. {Col 2:5 NLT}
Apostle Paul could not hid his genuine love and concern for the Colossian believers. He was not privileged at this time to be physically present with them to ensure that their spiritual development was in line with the scriptures, yet he had them in his heart. No wonder he was rejoicing that they were living like Christ. It is important to understand that Christianity is not a religion, rather it is the life of Christ given to those who believe in Him to showcase to the world. The Colossian brethren were truly showcasing Christ through their way of living. The preaching of the gospel is not just about speaking about Christ but we should preach more in this generation through our way of living, character and attitude.
Apostle Paul also commended their strong faith in Christ, which is the basis for a victorious Christian living. Bible speaking about our father Abraham said – And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. {Rm 4:19 NLT}.
Beloved do not allow the devil through unpleasant situations to define your faith in Christ by weakening it, rather build up your spiritual capacity and be strong in faith always giving glory to God no matter the circumstance.
