Products Of The Sinful Nature Part III
Beloved, a positive attitude that is scripturally based and driven by faith will definitely lead to positive outcomes in your life. So stay positive based on God’s promises. Our scriptural focus for today states – Idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division. {Gal 5:20 NLT}
These works of the sinful nature can be divided into four categories for proper study and understanding. The first category deals with sensual sins and the second category deals with sins of superstition which is the focus of our study today. Idolatry is not just limited to the worship of other gods, it can also be putting things and people ahead of God. As believers in Christ, we are to worship God with all our heart, love people and use the things that God has provided for us but too often we use people, love ourselves and worship the good things of life, leaving God out of the picture completely. Bear in mind that whatever you worship, you will equally serve, so any believer in Christ who devotes more time to family, career, material possessions etc than he/she does to Christ may be in danger of idolatry.
Sorcery/witchcraft is not just the use of magical powers/arts to manipulate other people, but also the use of drugs. In the days of Apostle Paul, magicians often used drugs to bring about their evil effects and manipulate people. The bible warns against such practices but sadly in the current church there are a lot of manipulations going on as a means of advancing the selfish desires of some people and not that of God.
That we are living in the end time is no longer in doubt, the quest for fame and prosperity has driven some believers in Christ into witchcraft and some others into motivational speaking that is intended to manipulate people,and give them false hopes.
Don’t use the Bible to manipulate people.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
