I am in chains now for preaching this message from God. But pray that I will keep on speaking out boldly for him even here in prison, as I should. {Eph 6:20 TLB}
That you’re going through one difficulty or another, is not a justification to abandon the cause of Christ. Always bear in mind, that challenges are part and parcel of the human life here on earth. Our scriptural focus for today states – I am in chains now for preaching this message from God. But pray that I will keep on speaking out boldly for him even here in prison, as I should. The forerunners of the New covenant in Christ went through different persecutions, trials and temptations to both establish and advance the message of Grace. Apostle Paul was among those who suffered the most for the sake of the gospel, yet it did not deter him from going ahead to fulfill his Gods given assignment, even at the point of being in prison. That he was put in prison because of the gospel could not discourage him, or slow down his momentum and passion for the unsaved world around.
In our world today, as a believer pursuing the cause of Christ, you may not be put in a physical prison like Apostle Paul, but you can go through other forms of persecutions, trials and temptations for the sake of the Gospel of Christ. The Big question is – When you go through these things for the sake of the gospel what will your reaction be?. Will you follow the example of Apostle Paul by standing firm in what you believe in or will you allow those unpleasant situations to deflect your momentum and passion for the Gospel of Christ. Notice that Apostle Paul did not keep quite, rather he asked for the prayers of the brethren, in the same vein, its your personal responsibility to ask for the prayers of the brethren around you, whenever you’re faced with situations that seeks to challenge your Faith and the cause of Christ.
Don’t throw away your confidence in Christ, it has great reward.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
