Beloved, God is sufficient to meet all your needs, only trust Him and put to effective use the ideas He brings into your heart. Our scriptural focus for today states – Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality (the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it) belongs to Christ. {Col 2:17 AMP}
The rules and regulations of the law was just a shadow of the Real covenant God had in mind for the human race. So for you to allow anyone to use the shadow to condemn you when God’s reality has been made known, can best be described as an abuse against the work of redemption.
Christ and His work of redemption was that which all the practices in the law of Moses and the entire old testament was pointing humans to. Christ is that substance which the old testament foreshadowed.
Hear this – “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. {Matt 5:17 NLT}. Through His death and resurrection, He accomplished the purpose of the old testament and gave us the fulfilled version in the new testament.
The new testament is the fulfilled version of the old testament.
