Recognising The Assignment Part IV
Positive people are those who have made up there minds to enjoy the life God has given them at the level He brings them into per time. They focus on the possibilities of God and not the problems. Our scriptural focus for today states – In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co-workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews. {Gal 2:9 NLT}
The three Apostles known as the pillars of the early church, appreciated the gift given to Apostle Paul by God for the work of ministry. They did not stop at recognising his gift but they went further by accepting Apostle Paul and Barnabas as coworkers with them in the ministry. What an exemplary demonstration of true brotherly love and spiritual maturity by the leaders of the church. They were a great encouragement to Apostle Paul and his team. They admonished them to stay focused on their God given ministry to the Gentiles while they also focus on their own assignment to the Jews. This was a clear demonstration of the principle of division of labour and separation of powers.
To encourage the God given gifts and ministry of others within the body of Christ is the responsibility of those who are leaders in the church, and doing all within their reach to ensure that such brethren succeeds in their ministry assignment is God’s expectation on the leaders. The encouragement and acceptance of Apostles James, Peter and John helped Apostle Paul and his team to succeed, lets do the same as leaders for those coming behind us, recognising that it is One Faith, One Lord and One Assignment that we all have been called into.
Encourage others to be focus
Have a Grace filled day, Good News awaits you.
